National Certificate in Poultry Production with strands in Egg Production, Poultry Hatchery, and Poultry Meat Production (Level 2)
Key Topics Core topics include poultry welfare, site biosecurity procedures, knowledge of poultry anatomy and body systems, prevention of diseases, cleaning and sanitation and health and safety. Electives offer skills which are specific to individual poultry operations.
Duration 12 months
Who should attend? New entrants into the poultry industry or those who have some work experience, who wish to build on their existing knowledge and skills.
Certificate in Table Egg Collecting, Grading and Packing (Level 2)
Key Topics This introductory certificate includes the core topics of biosecurity, health and safety, cleaning and sanitation, and the collecting, grading and packing of eggs. Food contamination hazards and control methods are also included, providing further emphasis on the quality of the finished product.
Duration 6 months
Who should attend? New entrants into the table egg production sector.
National Certificate in Poultry Husbandry with strands in Egg Production, Poultry Hatchery, and Poultry Meat Production (Level 3)
Key Topics Aimed at the more experienced poultry worker, this qualification provides learning in the areas of poultry husbandry, pest control, core health, occupational health and safety practices and general poultry management. Electives offer skills which are specific to individual poultry operations.
Duration 12 months.
Who should attend? Those who have experience in the poultry industry and wish to progress to a supervisory role.
National Certificate in Poultry Management (Level 4)
Key Topics Holders of this qualification will have the skills and knowledge to manage a poultry facility in a supervisory capacity and manage the health and safety of staff in the workplace. Electives offer skills which are specific to individual poultry operations.
Duration 12 months
Who should attend? For those with experience in the poultry industry and wish to progress towards a supervisory or managerial position.
